Wednesday Jul 28, 2021
Welcome to our latest podcast with guest Louise Goodman!
Louise is an award-winning TV presenter and journalist with over 20 years of media experience. Her childhood interest in motorsport was first sparked by the exploits of James Hunt and she has gone on to build a very successful career in this male-dominated and highly competitive arena.
Louise is dubbed ‘the first woman of Formula One’ Louise made her name as part ITV’s Grand Prix presentation team and is currently co-presenting the channel’s live coverage of the British Touring Car Championship. Her skills extend way beyond reporting from the pit-lane though: A talented presenter across the board she has fronted a wide range of TV shows and her journalistic experience has been put to good use contributing to radio stations and writing for newspapers and magazines. Louise’s informative and entertaining style has also kept her in demand for hosting conferences, live events and awards ceremonies.
Not content with just talking about motorsport, Louise is also pretty handy behind the wheel. She has mixed it with the best in karts and on the race track and finished a highly creditable 3rd in class at the British round of the 1999 World Rally Championship. She also became the first woman ever to take part in a Formula One pit-stop during the 2006 British Grand Prix.
Louise can be contacted via the Goodman Media website at www.goodmanmedia.co.uk Today we speak about Louise's background and how she entered into the world of presenting. She also explains the way she managed to overcome pitfalls and sustained meaningful relationships within Formula One.
