John’s recent research has focused on velocity-based training, particularly seeking to explore the reliability and agreement of wearable accelerometers and linear position transducers. Welcome to a new episode of Unapologetically You!
Today we speak to Catherine King, where we discuss why the majority of women do not apply for roles and why there are fewer female presenters at conferences, including the NSCA. We also touch upon the environment which nurtures our goals and values on how to raise one another up.
There were some great nuggets of information on evolving ways in which we can self-reflect, nurture our strengths, as well as finding mentors to excel within our personal and professional areas.
Let us know if you resonated with this and if there are similar stories in your working environment.

Ep #6 Director & Coach Simon Brundish
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Welcome to episode #6
We speak to company founder and director of Strength Lab. A facility that provides elite sports science/Strength & conditioning services to professional and amateur sports. They are also open to the general public who are also given access to professional sports science and strength conditioning (usually a privilege only reserved for elite athletes and sportspeople) – yet Simon has incorporated this within his program delivery.
Strength Lab aims to make this level of training available to everybody and to revolutionise the way most people access health and fitness training. One of the things which excited us to bring Simon onto a podcast is his success in creating a new stream of training for the younger population, which enhances their fundamental movement patterns as well as developing their skills in speed, agility and changes of direction.
You can find Simon on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram:
